Dongducheon-si, Inspection of Specific Soil Pollution Management Facilities Such as Gas Stations
Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 12th that it conducted guidance and inspections from the 4th to the 7th at 12 designated soil contamination management facilities within the city to prevent soil contamination accidents and promote proper facility management.
The inspection targets were gas stations and industrial facilities that manufacture or store more than 20,000 liters of petroleum products. Compliance with related laws, such as reporting changes to management target facilities and conducting soil contamination inspections, was verified.
Soil contamination inspections are conducted 5, 10, and 15 years after the initial inspection if soil contamination prevention facilities are installed. After 15 years, inspections must be conducted every two years.
Additionally, leakage inspections must be conducted every 8 years starting from 10 years after the installation of storage facilities.
