Paju City Hosts the 5th 'Hope, Sharing' Paju Art Festival
Held at Unjeong Happiness Center from 13th to 16th
Festival proceeds to be used for neighbors in need
Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) is hosting the '2024 5th Hope and Sharing Paju Art Festival,' organized by the Paju branch of the Korea Federation of Artistic & Cultural Organizations, which will be held from the 13th to the 16th at the Unjeong Happiness Center.
First launched in 2016, this festival is now in its fifth year and was created to share warmth through art and convey hope and happiness. The proceeds from the festival have been used to support marginalized neighbors.
From the 13th to the 16th, a space will be operated to exhibit and sell artworks including paintings, photographs, and poetry by professional artists from the Paju Federation of Artistic & Cultural Organizations. On the 15th and 16th, the play "Aigo Beya," a rebirth of the traditional story "Nolbujeon" combined with breakdancing, will be performed. Additionally, on the 16th, performances such as mime and acoustic guitar will take place, and photography events will be held on the 15th and 16th.
Woo Eun-jung, Director of the Culture and Arts Division, said, "The festival proceeds will be used to share with neighbors living in difficult circumstances," adding, "We hope many citizens will show interest and participate in this festival where art can be experienced closely in everyday life."
