Rep. Uh Ki-gu Visits MOLIT and Others to Request Cooperation on Key Issues Including the Second Seohae Bridge

View original imageOn the 11th, National Assembly member Uh Kigoo (The Minjoo Party of Korea, Dangjin-si, Chungnam), who serves as the chairperson of the National Assembly’s Agriculture, Food, Rural Affairs, Oceans and Fisheries Committee, visited the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor in Sejong City to hold meetings with relevant government officials.
This is Representative Uh’s second visit to central government ministries since the opening of the 22nd National Assembly, following his visit in July.
During his visit to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Uh Kigoo emphasized the necessity of including the ‘National Route 32 Alternative Bypass Road’ and the ‘Second Seohae Bridge National Project’ in the 6th Five-Year National Road and Local Road Construction Plan, and requested active cooperation.
He also urged the ministry to actively consider selecting ‘Gijisi District in Songak-eup’ and ‘Myeoncheon-myeon’ for the New Village Project and Urban Regeneration Recognition Project, which are currently being solicited by the ministry.
During his visit to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, he reiterated the need for the prompt advancement of the ‘Dangjin?Asan Expressway’ and expressed hope that the ‘Korea Coast Guard Human Resources Development Institute,’ the first national institution in Dangjin, would soon be selected as a candidate for the preliminary feasibility study.
He then visited the Ministry of Environment to request national funding allocation for the establishment of a ‘Carbon Neutrality Experience Center’ at the Obongje Waterfront Park, and at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, he emphasized the necessity of establishing an ‘Industrial Accident Specialized Public Hospital’ in Dangjin, seeking active cooperation.
Uh Kigoo stated, “It is important to fully explain Dangjin’s key pending projects to central government ministries in order to resolve local issues,” and added, “I will continue to actively communicate with frontline public officials in central ministries and do my utmost to resolve the issues facing Dangjin.”
