Administrative Measures Including Imposition of Fines for Two-Wheelers Violating Safety Standards
Paju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Kyung-il) announced on the 11th that it conducted a joint nighttime crackdown on illegal motorcycles in the Unjeong New Town area on the 7th, together with the Paju Police Station and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority Northern Gyeonggi Headquarters.
This crackdown was carried out to prevent traffic accidents and create a pleasant residential environment in response to increasing complaints from residents about noise and reckless driving caused by illegal motorcycles.
The main inspection items included △illegal vehicle modifications △compliance with safety standards △measurement of exhaust noise levels. As a result of the inspection, 15 violations of safety standards were found among 30 vehicles, and administrative actions such as orders to restore the original condition and fines will be imposed.
