Lee Choongsang, Standing Committee Member, Submits Resignation to Human Rights Commission
Resignation Letter Submitted on the 6th
Lee Chung-sang, a standing commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission, has submitted his resignation to the Commission.
According to the Commission on the 8th, Commissioner Lee submitted his resignation on the 6th, and it was reported that the inquiry into the reason for restriction on resignation through the jurisdictional Seoul Jungbu Police Station was completed on the same day.
Commissioner Lee was appointed as a standing commissioner (vice-ministerial level) of the Commission in 2022 through the recommendation of the People Power Party, starting a three-year term from October 21 of that year, with one year remaining on his term.
Since his inauguration, he has had conflicts with former Chairman Song Doo-hwan over the operation of the Secretariat, and from October last year, he led the proposal to change the resolution method of the subcommittee at the plenary session, which subsequently led to a deadlock in both the plenary and standing committees.
