'Swing States' North Carolina and Georgia Show Trump Leading at 88% Vote Count

In the key battleground states of North Carolina and Georgia for the November 5 U.S. presidential election, Republican candidate and former President Donald Trump is solidifying his lead.
According to the Associated Press, as of 1:06 AM KST on the 6th, with 88% of the votes counted in both North Carolina and Georgia, former President Trump is ahead of Vice President Harris.
In North Carolina, which was a close race in the early stages of counting, former President Trump is currently leading with 50.8% compared to Vice President Harris's 48.1%. In North Carolina, where voting ended at 9:30 AM KST, early votes cast by Democratic supporters were counted first, showing an initial advantage for Vice President Harris.
However, as the counting progressed, the lead flipped to former President Trump within about an hour. North Carolina, which has a total of 16 electoral votes, is the only one among the seven battleground states where former President Trump won in both the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections.

In another battleground state, Georgia, former President Trump is also leading with 51.1% compared to Vice President Harris's 48.2%.
