Busan Urban Corporation Holds Completion Ceremony for 'Dream House' Project to Improve Facilities for Children with Disabilities
Improvement of Facilities for Children with Disabilities at Ddaddeuthan Donghaeng and Janghan Daycare Centers
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) held a completion ceremony for the ‘Dream House’ project to improve facilities for children with disabilities at Janghan Daycare Center in Suyeong-gu on the 5th, in collaboration with the social welfare foundation ‘Ddaddeuthan Donghaeng’.
Janghan Daycare Center, which opened in 2003, has provided various social welfare services to children with disabilities in the area. However, a fire that started in the ventilation fan of the underground play area in June affected the safety and learning rights of the children.
In response, BMC, together with Ddaddeuthan Donghaeng, carried out repair and renovation work to recover from the fire damage. Damaged play equipment was replaced, and the charred wallpaper, floor, and ceiling were removed and foundational construction was conducted to create a customized welfare space.
Additionally, a psychological stabilization room was installed on the third floor of the facility, providing a warmer and more comfortable space for the children to grow than before.
The ‘Dream House’ project, launched for the first time this year, aims to create a safe environment in local children’s centers, offering a learning space that can be safely and conveniently used by both children with and without disabilities. BMC sponsored 25 million KRW for this project to support children with disabilities in growing up in a safe and pleasant environment.
