The ceremony was attended by Moon Jong-seung, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Digital Appliances (DA) Division, and Lee Sang-hoon, Chairman of the Korea Energy Agency.
The two organizations agreed to mutually cooperate in areas such as policy and system collaboration to quickly introduce products applying new technologies to the market, establishing a foundation for the development of energy reduction technologies through innovative technology research and information exchange, and supporting the spread of energy-saving practices among the public.
Samsung Electronics plans to leverage its specialized technology to proactively develop high-efficiency and low-power technologies and provide necessary information for research on new technology status and industry trends. It will also carry out activities to spread social value by supporting partner companies in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and assisting their ESG management.
Chairman Lee Sang-hoon said, "After the agreement, we aim to create a model case of cooperation between public institutions and large corporations, covering energy saving of home appliances and mutual growth with small and medium-sized enterprises."
Vice President Moon Jong-seung stated, "Samsung Electronics has been striving to reduce home appliance energy consumption by developing high-efficiency products based on overwhelming technological capabilities and applying artificial intelligence (AI)-based energy-saving functions. We will work more closely for a sustainable future through new technology development and partner support, taking this agreement as an opportunity."
