BlackRock Appoints Lee Yoon-pyo as CEO and Korea Representative
BlackRock announced on the 5th that it has appointed Yoonpyo Lee as the Head of BlackRock Korea. His term will begin on the 20th of next month.
With this appointment, the new CEO Yoonpyo Lee will be responsible for establishing and executing BlackRock's long-term business strategy in Korea. Korea is a market where institutional investors are diversifying their investment portfolios through alternative investments, active strategies, and indexes to enhance resilience and achieve financial goals.

Yoonpyo Lee has over 25 years of experience in asset management and business development in both private and public markets, possessing extensive experience and deep expertise in the Korean market dynamics and domestic asset management industry. Before joining BlackRock, he served as the Head of Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) Korea, leading the asset management division across traditional and alternative investment market strategies. Prior to that, he was Vice President and CEO at Truston Asset Management, expanding the alternative investment division and serving as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for all asset management divisions excluding equities, such as bonds.

Additionally, during his more than seven years at the National Pension Service (NPS) Fund Management Headquarters, he served as Head of the Investment Strategy Office and Head of Overseas Alternatives, leading the investment strategy, asset allocation, and alternative investment portfolio construction and management of the NPS fund. He also served as a member of the NPS Investment Committee and the Alternative Investment Committee. Furthermore, he has experience in investment and M&A advisory roles at Macquarie Group, Ernst & Young, and KPMG.
