Enjoying Deepening Autumn and Healing Time While Walking Along Baekdonggyo Riverside Embankment
On the 2nd, Yangsan City in Gyeongnam successfully held the '2024 Yangsan Hoeyagang Healing Walk' event at the Hoeyagang Baekdonggyo riverside area, hosted and organized by the International Newspaper.
This walking event along the Hoeyagang River was designed to provide local residents with an opportunity for healing and health promotion, as well as to raise awareness of the beauty of Hoeyagang. Marking its second year, the Hoeyagang Healing Walk attracted about 900 pre-registrations and an additional 100 participants on-site, totaling around 1,000 attendees.
The course started at Baekdonggyo, passed Hosangyo in front of Daeseung 2nd Complex, and returned to Baekdonggyo, covering a total distance of 7 km and taking approximately 2 hours. Participants who completed the walk after pre-registration received a travel pouch set as a souvenir.
Prior to the opening ceremony, the Hoeyagang Citizens' Coalition for River Revival (Chairman Park Kyungsul) held an eco-festival, where participants engaged in throwing EM mud balls to purify the river water, raising awareness about environmental protection.
Additionally, at one side of the event venue, citizen participation booths such as photo booths, Hoeyagang wish tree decoration, and eco-bag making were set up. The Hoeyagang Eco Festival also operated 14 citizen participation booths, offering various hands-on experiences and entertainment.
