LG Electronics has joined the marathon challenge of people with brain lesions, putting into practice its ESG vision of 'Better Life for All.'
LG Electronics employees ran as pacemakers alongside disabled frame runners at the '2024 JTBC Seoul Marathon' held on the 3rd, cheering them on. Frame running is a sport using a pedal-less bicycle, gaining attention as a sport for people with disabilities and was officially adopted as an event at last year's World Para Athletics Championships.

View original imageIn June, LG Electronics signed an agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to support the participation of people with brain lesions in marathons. Since September, LG Electronics employees have been training outdoors every Saturday with disabled participants, building camaraderie and helping them complete their target distances. Kim Seung-yeop, a senior researcher at LG Electronics H&A Research Center who participated in the 10 km marathon course that day, said, "I wanted to give people with disabilities a sense of accomplishment and positive energy."
In addition, LG Electronics distributes easy-to-read books for children and youth with disabilities and conducts experiential educational programs such as the 'Home Appliance School One-Day Class' to teach safe use of home appliances, carrying out various activities to improve the lives of people with disabilities.
