Yeoncheon Edu Healthcare Center Conditionally Passes Joint Investment Review by Ministry of Education and Ministry of the Interior and Safety
Yeoncheon County and the Yeoncheon Office of Education announced on the 1st that the 'Yeoncheon Edu-Healthcare Center Construction Project' received conditional approval at the 2024 Regular 2nd Joint Local Finance Investment Review by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
By passing the joint investment review, which was considered the biggest hurdle in advancing the project, the construction project is expected to gain momentum.
The Edu-Healthcare Center Construction Project is a collaboration between Yeoncheon County and the Yeoncheon Office of Education to build a school complex facility in Jeongok-eup, Yeoncheon County. The center will have one basement floor and three above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 7,560㎡ and a total project cost of 37.8 billion KRW, aiming for completion in the first half of 2028.
The Edu-Healthcare Center will be an innovative space providing various convenience facilities and educational programs to local residents. It will include amenities such as a swimming pool, bowling alley, and bathhouse for residents, as well as educational and care facilities like the hub-type Neulbom School, Neulbom-linked after-school classes, and shared schools.
Lee Sang-ho, Superintendent of Yeoncheon Office of Education, stated, "We will do our best to establish a seamless Yeoncheon-style Neulbom system and create a hub facility reflecting local needs," emphasizing, "We will develop it as a successful example of a representative school complex facility encompassing education, care, and sports."
