▲Detailed Safety Check of Parts ▲Free Consumables Support ▲Electric Two-Wheeler Inspection...Promoting Safe and Eco-Friendly Driving
Efforts to Improve Labor Welfare Blind Spots through Two-Wheeler Traffic Safety Education and Mobile Worker Rest Areas
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) conducted a ‘Two-Wheeled Vehicle Free Inspection Campaign’ in collaboration with Coupang Eats Service and the Korea Motorcycle Maintenance Association, organized by the Gwanak Labor Welfare Center, to support safe winter driving preparations for mobile workers.
The district operates the Labor Welfare Center to promote the rights and welfare of working residents.
On October 30, the Labor Welfare Center provided professional inspection services by mechanics affiliated with the Motorcycle Maintenance Association to 100 selected mobile workers through prior applications at Nakseongdae Park.
A detailed safety inspection was conducted on key motorcycle parts such as ▲brakes, lighting, steering devices ▲tires ▲battery, and essential consumables like engine oil, brake pads, and air cleaner filters were replaced free of charge.
In particular, this campaign newly supported ▲electric two-wheeled vehicle dedicated scanner inspections ▲exhaust gas reduction fuel additives ▲environmental label certified consumables, in addition to the existing inspections provided last June for the summer heat, promoting ‘eco-friendly driving’ for mobile workers.
The Labor Welfare Center plans to conduct safety awareness education for mobile workers on November 7 and 8.
The education consists of ‘Two-Wheeled Vehicle Traffic Safety Education’ guided by the Gwanak Police Station and ‘Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance Act Education’ by a labor attorney from the Gwanak Labor Welfare Center.
Additionally, those who complete the education will be supported with a certain amount of funds for purchasing safety supplies.
The district is also working to guarantee rest rights for mobile workers by establishing the mobile worker rest area ‘Gwanak Forest (For Rest)’ along the Byulbitnaerin Stream roadside (1471-5 Sillim-dong). The rest area is equipped with heating and cooling facilities and hot and cold water dispensers to create a safe 24-hour working environment for mobile workers vulnerable to climate change.
