The Daesan Rural Award was established in 1991 by the Daesan Rural Foundation to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to agriculture and rural development, honoring their achievements and serving as role models for society. It is the most prestigious award in the agricultural sector, presented across three categories: agricultural management, rural development, and agricultural public service.
After graduating from the Department of Agricultural Science at Chonnam National University, Park returned to his hometown in Haksan-myeon, Yeongam-gun, Jeonnam, where he has spent 45 years promoting eco-friendly snail farming to villagers, creating an organic ecological village, and practicing ecological agriculture based on the expansion of environmentally friendly farming, leading efforts to preserve the environment and ecosystem.
Park was recognized for his contributions to revitalizing rural communities by collaborating with villages, schools, and local societies, passing on the agricultural community to younger generations, and was awarded the 33rd Daesan Rural Award (Rural Development category).
