On the 28th of last month, Heo Jin-su, CEO of SPC Group, held a strategic meeting with the delegation led by On Hafiz Ghazi, Governor of Johor State, at Lotte Hotel Seoul in Jung-gu. On the 31st of last month, the Johor delegation visited Fashion 5 located in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, sampled products, and had a conversation with CEO Heo.
This meeting was an occasion to explore ways to expand cooperation and establish a collaborative system ahead of the completion of SPC Group’s halal bakery factory. SPC Group is constructing a factory with a total floor area of 12,900㎡ in Johor Bahru, the capital of Johor State, investing approximately 40 billion KRW. Once the factory is completed by the end of the year, it will supply products to Southeast Asian countries where Paris Baguette has entered, as well as to the Middle Eastern region planned for future expansion.
SPC Group and Johor State have agreed to invest and cooperate in various areas, including the construction and operation of the halal factory, local raw material supply, and job creation. Previously, Heo Young-in, Chairman of SPC Group, emphasized the importance of the Southeast Asian market as a global growth axis alongside the United States and China. Chairman Heo also led the local pioneering efforts when Paris Baguette expanded into Vietnam and Singapore.
