Uijeongbu City Wins Inspirational Village Award at Gyeonggi Village Community Festival
On the 29th, Uijeongbu City’s "Uijeongbu Maul Net" received the Inspiring Village Award (Governor of Gyeonggi Province Award) at the "2024 Gyeonggi Village Community Festival" held at the old Gyeonggi Provincial Government New Building in Paldal-gu, Suwon City.
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 31st that ‘Uijeongbu Maul Net’ received the Inspiring Village Award (Gyeonggi Province Governor’s Award) at the ‘2024 Gyeonggi Village Community Festival’ held on the 29th at the old Gyeonggi Provincial Government New Building in Paldal-gu, Suwon City.
Under the theme of ‘Happy Villages for Residents, Happy Gyeonggi Villages,’ the event was attended by a total of 200 people, including members of village communities from 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province and an audience evaluation panel, sharing outstanding community activity cases and achievements.
Among 57 community cases, the province selected 10 communities as finalists through a prior written review, and on the day of the event, a total of 93 audience evaluators, three from each city and county, conducted a strict and transparent on-site evaluation to determine the final rankings.
Uijeongbu Maul Net, which won the Inspiring Village Award (Governor’s Award) this time, was highly evaluated for forming a council to build networks and reciprocal relationships among communities and promoting Uijeongbu city’s village communities through various promotional channels, contributing to the revitalization of the communities.
Ham In-seong, the representative of Maul Net, said, “Through the Gyeonggi Village Community Network Activation Support Project and Uijeongbu City Village Community Resident Proposal Contest Project, we were able to carry out activities to revitalize local communities and establish a solidarity cooperation system. We are discussing ways to raise funds for sustainable village community activities, and we hope to become a community that dreams together and grows together, even if in small ways.”
