EIPP is a government-to-government mid- to long-term policy and technology advisory program promoted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance since 2020 to expand opportunities for domestic companies to participate in overseas projects.
The service contract was signed with a consortium consisting of the Korea Rail Network Authority, Daehan Consultant, Sejong Technology, and ARTEC to conduct a pre-feasibility study on the electrification and signal modernization of the 92.4 km single-track non-electrified section on the central Tajikistan line (Parkdabad?Dushanbe?Vahdat).
Previously, in 2022, the Korea Rail Network Authority signed a railway cooperation memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan. Building on this, the Authority undertook the "Preliminary Study for the Construction and Operation of Urban Railways in Tajikistan," a 2023/2024 KSP policy advisory service, providing consultation from the planning stage of local railway project development, which was completed in June.
The Korea Rail Network Authority plans to use the Tajikistan railway market as a foothold to enable Korean railway system technology to enter the Central Asian railway market.
