Guri City Operates 'Free Life School' at Guri Citizen Academy
A School of Learning to Understand Life with Others through Self-Reflection
Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 29th that it will operate the humanities academy "Guri City Free Life School," where Guri citizens can explore the value of life.
"Guri City Free Life School" is not a school for accumulating knowledge but a place of learning to discover one's existential value through life reflection and to practice an other-oriented life. It will be held three times in total as a 1-night, 2-day course in November.
The core values of this academy are preparing for a 100-year life, a vibrant life, a rich life of learning and sharing, and a life of communicating community. It will be operated under three themes: soil and life, existence, and empathy.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City said, "I hope this academy becomes a school of learning where participants fully reflect on their own lives and understand living together with others."
Applications for the 2024 Guri Citizen Academy "Guri City Free Life School" are available until November 15 through the integrated reservation portal on the Guri City Lifelong Learning Center website. For more details, please contact the Lifelong Learning Division of Guri City Hall.
