Happy City Hosts '2024 Yeoju-si Village Community Festival'
Wrapping Up a Fruitful Year of Village Community Activities in Yeoju City
Lee Chung-woo, Mayor of Yeoju City, is participating with citizens at the Yeoju-si Village Community Festival held on the 26th.
Yeoju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced on the 29th that it held the '2024 Yeoju City Village Community Festival,' starting with the 'Dakimeori Pungmulpae Community Parade' of Samhap 1-ri, Jeomdong-myeon, at the Yeoju City Indoor Gymnasium on the 26th.
A total of 57 communities participated in this festival, including ▲8 performance teams ▲20 experience and sharing teams ▲37 exhibition teams. The event was designed to showcase and share the achievements from activities conducted between March and October.
Mayor Lee Chung-woo of Yeoju said, “This community festival was a valuable time for communication and exchange among Yeoju citizens' communities, and since it is a happy project that resonates deeply with Yeoju citizens, we will continue to support it.”
A Yeoju city official stated, “The Yeoju village community activity project will support about 55 communities next year, similar to this year, and a recruitment announcement is planned around December.”

Meanwhile, the community activity project, which started in 2016 with one community, is divided into ‘Seed → Sprout → Living Community · Economic Community’ and has grown every year, with a cumulative total of 377 communities participating. Some of these have advanced into village enterprises and social enterprises, creating healthy local jobs.
