Geumcheon-gu 'Gasan-dong Cultural Complex Space' Opens
Opening Ceremony Held at 3 PM on the 30th at Gasan-dong Community Center 2nd Floor
Expected to Be a Place of Communication and Harmony Led by Residents
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on the 30th at 3 PM, a cultural complex space opening ceremony will be held on the 2nd floor of the Gasan-dong Community Center to support leisure and cultural activities for local residents.
The Gasan-dong cultural complex space was efficiently reorganized from the previously cramped and aging community center space into a facility equipped with various resident convenience amenities.
The space consists of a community hall, shared kitchen, village broadcasting station, laundromat, and volunteer camp. It is expected to establish itself as a local community space where not only Gasan-dong residents but also various generations can interact and communicate.
In particular, a new village broadcasting station has been established to deliver local news and major district administration matters to residents, providing them with diverse information. Additionally, a new office for the volunteer camp has been prepared, and the shared kitchen and laundromat have been improved to greatly enhance convenience for residents.
In the shared kitchen, volunteers will prepare food to share with neighbors in need, and the laundromat will support washing and drying for residents who have difficulty doing laundry at home.
About 80 people, including Mayor Yu Seong-hoon and representatives of local residents, are expected to attend the opening ceremony. The event will begin with the screening of an interview video produced by the Gasan-dong village broadcasting station, followed by a progress report, congratulatory speeches, community hall operation plans, space introduction, and a reception.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I hope the Gasan-dong cultural complex space will be directly operated by local residents and become a happy space for them,” adding, “We will continue to listen to the voices of residents and support the cultural complex space to become a center for communication and exchange in the local community.”
