The consortium of A.T. Kearney Korea and the law firm Jipyung, the service agencies for the 'Selection of Government-Recommended Universities for the Establishment of a National Medical School and University Hospital in Jeollanam-do,' announced that they will hold a university briefing session and public hearing on the 29th to establish evaluation criteria for the public contest.
Following the statement released on the 28th by Mokpo National University and Suncheon National University, which said, "Although working-level discussions were held regarding the plan to establish a medical school based on university integration, no agreement was reached," the service agencies stated that they will proceed with the public hearing for universities and residents as originally scheduled.
The Eastern region session will be held at 10:30 AM at the Dongbu Regional Headquarters Lee Sun-shin Auditorium, and the Western region session will take place at 3:30 PM at the 70th Anniversary Hall of Mokpo National University.
The public contest will begin with the university briefing session and public hearing, followed by a proposal briefing on the 31st, a 20-day contest period from November 1 to 20, and a 3-day evaluation from the 21st to the 23rd to select the final recommended university, which will be submitted to the government on the 25th.
However, if the two universities reach an agreement on integration before the contest deadline of November 20 and submit a 'Integration Agreement' after consultation with the government, the contest will be temporarily suspended, and the Establishment Method Selection Committee will review the 'Integrated Medical School' method.
