The 1st Nakdonggang Water Wave Health Walking Competition Successfully Held
Gyeongnam Province and Nakdong River Coastal Cities and Counties... A Venue for Harmony
Yangsan City in Gyeongnam announced that the 1st Nakdong River Wave Health Walking Contest, hosted by Gyeongnam Province and Yangsan City, was successfully held at Hwangsan Park on the 26th.
This event was organized to promote walking among the residents of Gyeongnam while walking along the beautiful riverside path of the Nakdong River, a pride of Gyeongnam. About 1,300 residents participated, including Governor Park Wan-su, Mayor Na Dong-yeon of Yangsan, and provincial and city council members.
The contest course was divided into the Nakdong River Course (3 km), starting from the outdoor performance hall at the central plaza of Hwangsan Park, passing the pet owner rest area, Kang Min-ho Baseball Stadium, and Hwangsan Camping Site, and returning; and the Wave Course (5 km), passing the Woldang Ferry Terminal and returning. All participants received participation and completion souvenirs.
Additionally, as a side event, various health experience booths that help with health management were operated, including smoking cessation and alcohol moderation experience centers, physical activity experience centers, oral health experience centers, and vascular health experience centers from eight cities and counties along the Nakdong River, receiving high praise from local residents.

At the Yangsan Chrysanthemum Festival site, people of all ages and various generations and classes enjoyed the beautiful nature along the Nakdong River and attended the walking contest, making it a meaningful time as Gyeongnam Province and the cities and counties along the Nakdong River created a venue for harmony.
A Yangsan City official stated, “We hope that the 1st Nakdong River Wave Health Walking Contest, taking its first step, will establish itself as a symbolic event representing the Nakdong River coastal region in the future.”
