LGU+ Achieves Comprehensive ESG Evaluation Grade A
Social Sector A+, Environment and Governance Sector Grade A
LG Uplus announced on the 27th that it received a comprehensive A grade (excellent) in this year's ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) evaluation conducted by the Korea ESG Standards Institute.
The ESG evaluation by the Korea ESG Standards Institute comprehensively assesses companies' risks and systems in the areas of environment, society, and governance.
LG Uplus stated, "The 'A+' grade obtained in the social sector is one level higher than last year," adding, "This evaluation recognizes that the company is continuously fulfilling its social responsibilities in various areas such as customer satisfaction, service quality enhancement, and information protection."
LG Uplus selected 'Information Security and Personal Data Protection' as a core theme of its annual sustainability management report and introduced a system to protect users' personal information and respond promptly to cyber threats.
LG Uplus also maintained an A grade in the environmental and governance sectors. The company installed a 1000 kW-class self-owned solar power generation facility at its Daejeon Research and Development (R&D) Center to directly produce and use renewable energy. Additionally, it published the industry's first 'Sustainability-related IFRS S1·S2 Report' in the domestic telecommunications sector, introducing the company's climate change response activities.
