‘Running Busan Culture’, Ending with Autumn Memories Loaded
Busan Cultural Foundation Ends Operation of 'Healing Concert × Haha Hoho Concert' Vehicles
Busan Cultural Foundation (CEO Lee Mi-yeon) announced that the operation of the mobile stage vehicle "Running Busan Culture," which has been conducting cultural and artistic events with Busan citizens for the past 14 years, will end after the event this October.
The event will be held on the 26th from 1 PM at Gamjeon Elementary School in Sasang-gu, preparing a special and precious day called the "Healing Concert × Haha Hoho Concert," featuring performances and cultural experiences with citizens and local artists through art to help recover from the fatigue of daily life.
Performances include band (Turning Point), vocal (No Seo-yoon), Indian magic, street dance (SDK), and a show by Jay Rabbit. The surprise event "Draw My Name" offers the first-come, first-served opportunity to receive a story-filled animal painting as a gift by artist Jo Tae-sung.
Other cultural experiences include making autumn foliage frames, creating personalized eco-bags, making fireflies, taking four-cut photo strips, and caricature drawing.
"Running Busan Culture" started with support from BNK Busan Bank and is a specially modified mobile stage vehicle based on a 4.5-ton truck, touring various areas of Busan to present diverse performances such as dance, puppet shows, classical music, and Samulnori (traditional Korean percussion).
It especially received great responses by providing opportunities for culturally marginalized local residents to enjoy culture and arts up close. Over 250 performances have been prepared, attracting about 130,000 spectators.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when outdoor activities were difficult, the foundation planned the "Apartment Veranda Concert" to comfort citizens through art and provided a mobile stage for local artists whose performance opportunities had decreased.

The Busan Cultural Foundation stated, "'Running Busan Culture' will cease operation this year due to the vehicle's aging, making safe operation difficult. We sincerely thank the citizens of Busan who have loved 'Running Busan Culture,' and we will strive to provide richer cultural and artistic experiences by preparing ways to offer opportunities to access culture and arts even after the vehicle's operation ends."
