Gwangju City Dispatches Southeast Asia Market Development Team... Strengthening Global Competitiveness
The '2024 Southeast Asia Market Development Team' of Gwangju City has been exploring markets in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, and Jakarta, Indonesia, from the 7th to the 12th.
Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 24th that it successfully dispatched the 2024 Southeast Asia Overseas Market Development Team and achieved meaningful results.
The Southeast Asia market development team conducted a total of 124 export consultations from the 7th to the 12th in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Jakarta, Indonesia, achieving consultation results worth 15.98 million USD (22.046 billion KRW).
This achievement is expected to play an important role not only in revitalizing Gwangju's economy but also in helping local companies establish themselves in the global market.
The development team included 10 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that sought new business opportunities through close consultations with local buyers. Gwangju City and the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency strengthened strategic approaches to overseas market entry by providing various supports such as discovering local buyers and arranging one-on-one consultations, providing interpreters for each company during consultations, and covering 50% of airfare costs to help participating companies achieve tangible export results.
Participating companies stated, "Through this opportunity, we were able to directly understand the demands of the local market and are pleased to have gained many contract opportunities," adding, "We will continue to strengthen our global competitiveness by participating in overseas market development teams."
