First Meeting Since Inauguration... Household Communication Costs Expected to Be Discussed
Likely to Take Place on November 13
Yoo Sang-im, Minister of Science and ICT, is scheduled to meet with the representatives of the three mobile carriers (SK Telecom, KT, LG Uplus) next month for the first time since taking office.
According to the industry on the 24th, Minister Yoo will hold a meeting next month with Yoo Young-sang, CEO of SKT, Kim Young-seop, CEO of KT, and Hwang Hyun-sik, CEO of LG Uplus. Although the exact date is still under discussion, August 13 is being strongly considered.
As this will be the first meeting since Minister Yoo's inauguration in August, it is expected that pressing issues surrounding mobile carriers, such as reducing household communication expenses and the abolition of the Device Distribution Act (Dantongbeop), will be discussed.
With all three mobile carriers entering the artificial intelligence (AI) business, they may also request institutional support from Minister Yoo regarding this matter.
