On the 24th, the National Police Agency announced that it held the "3rd High-Level International Academic Conference on Counterterrorism" together with the Institute for National Security Strategy at Songdo Convensia in Incheon.

At this event, various opinions and solutions were sought on the latest trends and response measures, as well as ways to strengthen international cooperation, under the theme of changes in the terrorism paradigm and the development of counterterrorism policies.
About 150 high-ranking officials from domestic and international counterterrorism agencies, university professors, and counterterrorism personnel from the military and coast guard attended, including Ban Ki-moon, former UN Secretary-General; Han Seok-hee, President of the Institute for National Security Strategy; Shin Sang-gyun, Head of the Counterterrorism Center at the Office for Government Policy Coordination; and Rebecca Miller, Senior Analyst at the US Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration.
Former Secretary-General Ban said, "This event is very appropriate for sharing recent analyses of terrorism types and response measures," adding, "It will be an opportunity to inform the world that Korea is playing an important role in cooperation with international organizations."

National Police Agency Commissioner General Jo Ji-ho said, "The threat of terrorism is not just a problem of one country but a common challenge that the international community must address together," and added, "Our police will also strengthen counterterrorism capabilities through cooperation with domestic and international agencies as the main agency responsible for responding to general terrorism in Korea."
