Yangju City Completes Pilot Installation of 'Thermal Imaging CCTV' at City Hall Electric Vehicle Charging Station
Amid growing public concern over the recent nationwide series of electric vehicle fires, local governments are actively working to proactively address electric vehicle fire incidents.
On the 23rd, Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced that it has installed 'thermal imaging CCTV' to prevent loss of life and property for citizens visiting public offices within the city.
The city explained that since electric vehicle charging stations installed in public institutions are facilities frequently used by citizens, including visitors, this project was planned to create a safer government office environment.
The city has completed a pilot installation of the thermal imaging CCTV at the electric vehicle charging station in the annex parking lot of Yangju City Hall and plans to expand the installation in the future.
Furthermore, the 'thermal imaging CCTV' equipped with the latest thermal imaging camera technology monitors the status of electric vehicles 24 hours a day, detecting the vehicle's heat condition in real time and providing early warnings before a fire occurs, which is expected to greatly enhance citizen safety.
