Gijang-gun Wraps Up 'Disability Welfare Promotion Event'... A Harmony Festival Created by Everyone
Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) successfully concluded the ‘2024 Disability Welfare Promotion Conference’ on the 21st at the Gijang Indoor Gymnasium, hosted by the Gijang-gun Disabled Association (President Choi Chun-dong).
This event was organized to improve awareness for social integration of people with disabilities and to foster a society where everyone lives together. It was especially meaningful as a conference created by both people with and without disabilities.
The event was attended by approximately 800 people, including key guests such as Governor Jeong Jong-bok of Gijang-gun, the chairman and members of the Gijang-gun Council, members of the Busan City Council, as well as people with disabilities, their families, and volunteers.
The start of the event was marked by key guests entering together with wheelchair users, symbolizing an event for everyone, followed by various performances, activities, and programs that created a harmonious space for people with and without disabilities to come together.
The pre-ceremony performances began with exciting Nanta and Janggu drum performances, followed by ▲presentation of commendations and plaques of appreciation ▲opening remarks and congratulatory speeches ▲scholarship award ceremony ▲celebratory performances ▲and a singing contest for families with disabilities.
