The 2024 Second Half Regular General Meeting of the Korean Catholic University Presidents' Council was held on the 18th at Daegu Catholic University.
At this regular meeting, the presidents of 11 universities, including Hong Kyung-wan, President Priest of Busan Catholic University and Chairman of the Korean Catholic University Presidents' Council, and Seong Han-gi, President of Daegu Catholic University, as well as presidents from ▲Catholic University ▲Catholic Kwandong University ▲Catholic Kkotdongnae University ▲Catholic Sangji University ▲Gwangju Catholic University ▲Daejeon Catholic University ▲Mokpo Catholic University ▲Suwon Catholic University ▲Incheon Catholic University attended.

View original imageDuring the meeting, discussions were held on ▲the status report of the Korean Catholic Universities' Liberal Arts Shared University ▲proposal for a memorandum of understanding related to addiction among Korean Catholic Universities ▲report on participation in the Association of Southeast and East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASEACCU).
The Korean Catholic Universities' Liberal Arts Shared University (CU12) was established through mutual cooperation in 2022 to implement a 'future-oriented liberal arts education model' and began its first classes in the first semester of the 2023 academic year.
In the 2024 academic year, 97 courses from 9 universities were offered, with currently 6,000 students enrolled. Since its establishment, a total of 10,000 students have completed liberal arts courses.
Seong Han-gi, President of Daegu Catholic University, stated, "Through this general meeting, Catholic universities will cooperate more closely to prepare for future education and strive to provide students with more diverse educational opportunities."
