TEL Korea established a factory in 2006 in Jang-an Advanced Industrial Complex, Hwaseong, an investment area for foreign advanced manufacturers, and opened the Hwaseong office in Dongtan the following year. In 2012, TEL Korea set up the Technology Center Korea in Dongtan as a key R&D hub for advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes. The newly completed Technology Center Korea-2 is located next to the existing Hwaseong office. The company expects that the completion of this center will strengthen R&D, shorten the process development period for customers, and stabilize early mass production of development evaluation equipment.
Mayor Jeong expressed his gratitude in a congratulatory speech, saying, "We appreciate TEL Korea's investment in manufacturing plants and R&D hubs, local talent recruitment, and community contribution activities." He added, "TEL has played an important role not only in the development of the domestic semiconductor industry but also in Hwaseong's leap to becoming a global core city for next-generation semiconductors." Mayor Jeong also stated, "We will create a business-friendly environment and continuously improve infrastructure so that companies and the region can grow together through expanded investment."
