Uljin-gun Conducts Disaster Response Safety Korea Training
Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, will conduct the 2024 Safe Korea Training at the Hanwool Nuclear Power Plant Nagok Dormitory on the 22nd.
The training, which includes both discussion and field exercises simultaneously, assumes a fire caused by overheating of an electric heater within a multi-use facility and aims to demonstrate disaster response capabilities such as rapid life rescue and fire suppression.
In particular, the disaster situation room, equipped with a system connected in real-time to the disaster site, will activate the disaster countermeasures headquarters, while on-site, an emergency rescue control team and integrated support headquarters will be operated, simulating a command system similar to an actual situation.
About 300 personnel from related disaster response agencies, including Uljin Police Station, Uljin Fire Station, Health Center, Volunteer Fire Brigade, and Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group, along with approximately 30 vehicles and equipment, will participate in this large-scale training.
The Safe Korea Training is conducted annually under the Disaster and Safety Management Basic Act as a joint exercise by disaster management responsible agencies in the event of a major disaster, aiming to establish a close cooperation system and strengthen disaster response capabilities.
