Director's Meeting with 'Tongtong Committee'
Listening to Employee Suggestions and Providing Feedback
POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks (Director Lee Dong-ryeol) held a meeting on the 16th between the ‘Tongtong Committee,’ composed of young generation employees, and the steelworks director to create a communication channel for listening to employees' suggestions.
The Tongtong Committee meeting held at Baegundae in Gwangyang Steelworks was attended by Director Lee Dong-ryeol and nine Tongtong Committee members.
On the 16th, an organizational culture innovation meeting was held at Baegundae of Gwangyang Steelworks between Lee Dong-ryeol, the head of Gwangyang Steelworks, and the Tongtong Committee members composed of young steelworks employees.

The ‘Tongtong Committee’ serves as a communication channel for executives to empathize with employees' concerns, improvement ideas, and suggestions. Young generation employees are selected as committee members and the committee operates on a one-year cycle.
Previously, POSCO regularly held communication meetings with young generation employees at the company-wide level, gathering various opinions such as simplifying the reporting culture by reducing ‘routine reporting,’ fostering an atmosphere that comfortably utilizes labor systems like spouse maternity leave and flexible working hours, and among these, parts that could be implemented by executive authority were promptly acted upon.
The meeting was structured around three main topics to hear the committee members' suggestions: ▲ Tasks at the Gwangyang Steelworks level for organizational culture innovation ▲ Communication events to promote harmony between departments and levels within the steelworks ▲ Support for enhancing employees' job competencies. The vivid opinions of the Tongtong Committee members were conveyed directly to the steelworks director.
In particular, the significance lies in the fact that the steelworks director personally listened to improvement suggestions from the perspective of young generation employees and provided feedback on reflecting these in future policies right on site.

Director Lee Dong-ryeol of Gwangyang Steelworks stated, “I will actively review the opinions sent by the young employees here today and do my best to reflect them as much as possible,” and emphasized, “We will continue to create opportunities to listen more to the voices of employees in the field.”
