Additional Trains Deployed on Incheon Subway Line 2... Reduced Interval Between Trains During Morning Commute
Incheon City will add one more train to Line 2 of the Incheon Subway starting from the 18th.
As a result, the interval between trains during the morning rush hour (7:46 AM to 8:16 AM) will be shortened by 30 seconds, from the current 3 minutes to 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Although Line 2 of the Incheon Subway is managed within 150% congestion based on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's moderate congestion standard, the actual congestion felt by citizens needs improvement, as the congestion rate during the morning rush hour reached a maximum of 147.2% last April.
An official from Incheon City stated, "In addition to adjusting the train operation intervals this time, we will promote a project to increase the number of vehicles in preparation for future increases in passenger demand," and added, "We will continue to strive to improve transportation services that citizens can feel."
