The Ministry of Science and ICT secured export contracts worth 5.4 billion KRW for Korean companies at the Korea-Middle East Digital Partnership event held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

View original imageOn the 15th, the Ministry of Science and ICT announced that it is conducting a two-day public-private joint Middle East digital export pioneering delegation activity in Dubai, UAE, starting from the previous day. This is the second activity following last year.
A total of 96 companies participating in the Middle East export pioneering delegation took part in the UAE Information and Communication Exhibition (GITEX), held from the 13th to the 16th, forming a Korean digital pavilion to showcase Korea's technology and services. Among them were 35 companies organized by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), as well as 61 companies participating under the auspices of the Korea Internet & Security Agency, Korea International Trade Association, Korea Creative Content Agency, Seoul Investment Agency, Korea Software Industry Association, and Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation.
The digital export pioneering delegation held the Korea-Middle East Digital Business Partnership event in conjunction with GITEX to support Korean companies' entry into the Middle East market. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by NIPA, with the participation of Consul General Beomchan Lee in Dubai and Middle Eastern companies and investors.

View original imageAt the partnership event, three export contracts worth a total of 4 million USD (approximately 5.4332 billion KRW) and two memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed. An investor relations (IR) pitching event was also held, where domestic companies introduced their business models to local investors.
Kang Dohyun, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, met with key officials from the UAE Abu Dhabi Department of Government Capacity Development at the GITEX Global Exhibition Hall in the afternoon. He received explanations about the digital super app that digitizes major services of the Abu Dhabi government and the smart city management system using digital twin technology. They also discussed cooperation plans in AI and digital fields between the two countries.
Vice Minister Kang stated, "The public-private joint digital export pioneering delegation activities and the Korea-Middle East Digital Partnership event are key cooperation items we proposed to the UAE side during the UAE president's visit to Korea in May. We will strive to implement them without delay so that domestic digital companies can enter the Middle East market."
