Kumho Petrochemical Delivers White Canes to Visually Impaired for 17 Consecutive Years
Donation of Sponsorship Funds Worth 54 Million Won
Kumho Petrochemical announced on the 15th that it held a commemorative ceremony to deliver white canes for the visually impaired at the Korea Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, in celebration of "White Cane Safety Day."

On this day, Kumho Petrochemical donated sponsorship funds worth 54 million KRW for the production of white canes. The total amount of sponsorship for white cane production by Kumho Petrochemical, which has continued for 17 years, has reached 870 million KRW.
Since 2008, Kumho Petrochemical has been supporting white canes, which are essential for the mobility of the visually impaired. Many visually impaired people preferred antenna-type white canes, which are lighter than the bulky traditional folding white canes and easier to carry, but have faced difficulties replacing them due to cost issues.
A commemorative performance by violinist Shin Won-hee was also held on the day. Shin, who is visually impaired, has overcome hardships and adversity to become a successful violinist, adding significance to the ceremony.
