Hyundai AutoEver Wins Red Dot Award Main Prize for Navigation UI
Hyundai AutoEver's navigation user interface (UI) has received a prestigious global design award. It was recognized for presenting a navigation concept suitable for autonomous vehicles by providing content tailored to drivers' preferences and connecting the virtual and real worlds.
On the 15th, Hyundai AutoEver announced that its self-developed navigation UI won the main prize in the '2024 Red Dot Award' design concept category. The Red Dot Award is divided into three major categories: product design, brand & communication design, and design concept. The design concept category evaluates designs of ideas or prototypes in the early development stage.
Hyundai AutoEver's UI prototype NIMS (New Interconnected Map Service) serves as a display for autonomous vehicles, showing passengers real-time information such as remaining time and distance to the destination and surrounding conditions, helping passengers travel comfortably.
In the era of autonomous driving, the burden of driving is removed, allowing passengers to multitask. Therefore, through the navigation system, passengers can enjoy various location-based content such as nearby popular restaurants, attractions, and social media-linked content. Passengers can use the navigation system like a smartphone to check weather, play music, and view stock information.

First, Universe means 'superreal, new reality, seamless virtual and real.' It refers to a digital twin that adds information providing new experiences as well as the real world. Explore emphasizes 'new exploration, personalized exploration, immersive exploration,' and Connect means 'flexible connection, smooth connection, connection with the world.' Personal smartphones, social media, and other services connect with the navigation system to provide personalized services.
