The 15th Samcheok Lifelong Learning Expo Opens for 2 Days Starting the 19th
‘Book Festival’ Also Held Together... Various Events Including Performances and Exhibitions
Sharing and Promoting Samcheok City's Experience as a ‘Lifelong Learning City’ and ‘Reading City’
Samcheok City, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Mayor Park Sang-su) announced on the 15th that it will hold the "15th Samcheok Lifelong Learning Expo and 5th Book Festival" over two days from the 19th to the 20th at the Samcheok Culture and Arts Center and Samcheok Youth Training Center.
Under the theme "Together with Citizens! Samcheok, the Lifelong Learning City Reborn," this event, subtitled "Lifelong Learning to Find Myself, A Book Journey to the World," is expected to involve about 2,000 learners including lifelong education (learning) institutions, organizations, clubs, and students within Samcheok City.
The event will feature experience and promotional booths operated by lifelong learning center students and lifelong education institutions and organizations, as well as book festival booths. Performances and exhibitions by clubs and students will also take place.
Additionally, the program will begin with a pre-event performance by the Citizen Wind Ensemble, violinist Jang Han-saem, and Mureop, followed by magician Lee Chang-hyun's magic show, children's musicals, and puppet shows. Events such as "My Beautiful Dream," relay stamps, and "World Exploration! Golden Bell" will also be held.
More than 40 lifelong learning institutions, organizations, and clubs will participate in the experience and promotional booths, offering activities such as traditional handmade seal making, small yut stick making, and leather accessory crafting. In the exhibition hall, 335 works including oil paintings will be displayed, providing an opportunity to appreciate these heartfelt creations.
Detailed programs of the book festival include "The Mysterious Land of the Middle East" with Professor Park Hyun-do of Naked World History, children's musicals (Aladdin, Wright Brothers), "World Exploration! Golden Bell" (for upper and lower grades), English plays (The Wisdom of the Rabbit), and puppet shows (The Story of the Sun and Moon). These diverse programs are expected to offer citizens various entertainment, sights, and emotional experiences.

Meanwhile, anticipating many visitors to this lifelong learning expo and book festival, Samcheok City plans to secure convenience facilities such as parking lots and citizen rest areas, and deploy traffic safety personnel and event security guards to prepare for various safety accidents.
