Hanam City Holds Resident Briefing on 'Wirye Sinsa Line Hanam Extension' Preliminary Feasibility Study
Lee Hyun-jae, Mayor of Hanam City, is conducting the 'Wirye Sinsa Line Hanam Extension Preliminary Feasibility Study Service Resident Briefing' on the 11th.
Gyeonggi Hanam City (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) announced on the 13th that it held a 'Resident Briefing Session' for the preliminary feasibility study on the Wirye Sinsa Line Hanam Extension at the Wirye-dong Administrative Welfare Center on the 11th.
At the briefing session, the city explained the economic analysis results of alternative routes and the selection results of alternative routes to the citizens and listened to various opinions from Hanam Wirye residents.
The city actively reviewed all eight route proposals requested by citizens of Namwirye and Bukwirye and explained the results. Among these, six routes including △Wirye Central Station~Wirye A3-8 Block △Wirye Central Station~Bukwirye △Line 5 Extension △Wirye Line (Tram) Extension △Wirye Gwacheon Line Hanam Extension were found to have a cost-benefit analysis (B/C) of 0.53 or lower.
Meanwhile, △Songpa Hanam Line (Line 3) connected for transfer with the 'Wirye Central Station~Gamil District Route' and △the 'Wirye Samdong Line Hanam Station Addition,' currently undergoing a preliminary feasibility study, showed the highest feasibility among the surveyed routes with a cost-benefit analysis (B/C) result of 0.7 or higher.
Based on these results, the city plans to make every effort to have this route reflected in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 5th Metropolitan Area Wide-area Transportation Implementation Plan, even though the B/C result is below 1.0.
The citizens attending the briefing session also formed a deep consensus on the city's explanation and future promotion plans.
Kim Kwang-seok, representative of the Wirye Citizens' Union, said, "It seems that Hanam City has made considerable efforts to ensure that the Hanam Wirye area, which has been excluded from the benefits of the Wirye Sinsa Line, can enjoy railway benefits," and requested, "Please make efforts to have the Wirye Central Station~Gamil District route reflected in the higher-level railway plans."
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae urged, "Usually, railways are considered economically viable only if the cost-benefit (B/C) value is 1.0 or higher, so there may be difficulties in reflecting it in higher-level plans, but for the resolution of future traffic congestion, let the city and Wirye citizens unite and work together."
