As news of novelist Han Kang's Nobel Prize in Literature win garnered attention, a cast member from Netflix's Black and White Chef also extended congratulations.

On the 11th, the YouTube channel 'JTBC News' uploaded a video titled "The Nobel Committee directly posted the 'Korean name'... Han Kang's remarks: 'Korean literature inspired me'." The video contained the news of Han Kang's Nobel Prize in Literature win. Han Kang said, "I was really surprised and then surprised again. It is an honor," adding, "I grew up close to Korean literature. I hope this news will be good news for readers of Korean literature and my writer friends." She continued, "Someone called me to tell me this news, and of course, I was surprised," and added, "I just finished dinner with my son. It is 8 p.m. in Korea. It is a very peaceful evening."

Following this, interviews with citizens congratulating her on the award were shown. Im Tae-hoon, a resident of Nusaeng-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, said, "I heard the news that she received the Nobel Prize in Literature. It is the first in the country," and added, "It seems really amazing. I will definitely buy a book and read it." After the video was posted, netizens realized that he was the "Cheolgabang Chef" who appeared on the Netflix variety show Black and White Chef. It was confirmed that the Chinese restaurant "Doryang," which he operates, is located near "Chaekbang Oneul," a bookstore where Han Kang held various events such as lectures from its opening.

Meanwhile, Chef Im Tae-hoon, the "Cheolgabang Chef," started working as a delivery worker at a Chinese restaurant and built his skills through self-study using Chef Yeo Kyung-rae's cookbooks. He gained attention when his Palbo Wanja dish, presented in the first round of Black and White Chef, received high praise from judge Ahn Seong-jae, a Michelin three-star chef. Thanks to the program's popularity, reservations at "Doryang" reportedly sold out within one second after the broadcast.
