"Confident Han Kang Will Win Nobel Prize Someday"…French Publisher Cheers Han Kang's Work Release
Grasse, Last Year's French Edition of 'We Do Not Say Goodbye' Published
The French publisher Grasset, which published Han Kang's novel We Do Not Part in French, cheered the news of Han Kang being selected as this year's Nobel Prize in Literature laureate.
Writer Han Kang is being interviewed by Korean correspondents at a local publisher after winning the M?dicis Foreign Literature Prize, one of France's four major literary awards, on November 9 last year (local time).

On the 10th (local time), Joachim Schnepf, editor at Grasset, stated, "The news of Han Kang's award was an immense surprise and joy for everyone."
Editor Schnepf said, "When I heard the news, I couldn't believe it. I was confident that one day he would receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, but I never thought today would be that day."
He added, "The entire publishing house erupted in cheers of joy over Han Kang's award. It is wonderful news not only for Han Kang and the Korean literary community but for all of Korea." He continued, "I believe this award is a reward for an excellent work, and I am confident that Han Kang will write many more stories in books in the future."
Grasset is reportedly planning to print additional copies of the work with a band announcing Han Kang's Nobel Prize win. Editor Schnepf mentioned, "I hope to publish Han Kang's poetry in French next year."
