Seeas Technology Utilized in Mobicare Cardiac Rehabilitation Treatment... "Increased Possibility of Home Care"
Wearable AI specialist company Seers Technology is entering the cardiac rehabilitation market based on its electrocardiogram (ECG) testing service, MobiCare.
Seers Technology (hereinafter Seers) announced on the 8th that it has proven equivalence through a clinical comparison of exercise stress tests between its single-lead wearable ECG patch and the current standard multi-lead ECG, publishing the clinical results in the international journal Sensors.
This clinical trial involved 50 patients participating in cardiac rehabilitation treatment who required management of cardiovascular diseases, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmia, and other conditions. The clinical trial was conducted by the research team of Professors Jong-Young Lee and Hyo-In Choi at Kangbuk Samsung Hospital.
The patients participating in the clinical trial simultaneously wore Seers’ wearable ECG patch and a "12-lead ECG device" while performing the exercise stress test, and the ECG data measured during the exercise stress test were compared.
The study results showed that the major ECG parameters (Total QRS, VEB, SVEB, RR Interval) measured by Seers’ ECG patch and the "12-lead ECG device" had a correlation coefficient P value of <0.001, indicating very high equivalence. Additionally, heart rate measurements across seven stages of exercise stress testing showed a high degree of agreement between the two devices.
A Seers representative stated, "The equivalence results of this clinical trial confirmed reliable evidence that cardiac monitoring using MobiCare can be utilized for exercise stress testing during cardiac rehabilitation."
MobiCare has less influence from motion artifacts during exercise stress testing compared to standard devices, enabling relatively accurate ECG measurements. It was confirmed that not only accurate heart rate but also abnormal cardiac rhythm analysis occurring during the exercise stress test process is possible.
In particular, the MobiCare ECG patch is an optimized solution for cardiac rehabilitation exercise stress testing. Equipped with an accelerometer and gyroscope, its AI algorithm comprehensively analyzes exercise volume, including calorie consumption, along with ECG parameters.
Moreover, it allows for long-term testing with easy attachment, making it highly effective for home-based cardiac rehabilitation programs. Based on these research results, Seers plans to continue additional studies related to home cardiac rehabilitation.
Lee Young-shin, CEO of Seers, said, “During cardiac rehabilitation treatment, exercise intensity is set based on heart rate, but increasing exercise intensity can pose risks of complications such as recurrent myocardial infarction or arrhythmia, so accurate heart rate monitoring to set exercise intensity is very important.”
