Guri-si to Conduct Comprehensive Collection of Overdue Non-Tax Revenues in the Second Half of the Year
Focused Collection Activity Period: Full Effort to Collect Overdue Payments
Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 8th that it will carry out a comprehensive collection campaign for overdue non-tax revenues in the second half of 2024 for two months from the 2nd to November 30th.
This campaign is aimed at efficiently collecting overdue local non-tax revenues and securing stable local finances by operating a focused collection period. It plans to send out demand and overdue notices simultaneously to encourage voluntary payment and enforce strong collection measures by actively seizing assets such as vehicles, deposits, and card sales receivables.
For high-amount defaulters, the city will strengthen the responsible collection system, which has been in operation since May, by actively conducting home searches including seizure of movable property, and will also implement administrative sanctions such as public disclosure of names and restrictions on licensed businesses.
A city official stated, “We will encourage installment payments and provide support such as deferral of collection measures for defaulters in financial hardship, but we plan to pursue and collect from habitual and chronic defaulters to the very end.”
