[Click eStock] "SOOP Falls Short of Q3 Earnings Expectations"
Hana Securities estimated on the 8th that SOOP's third-quarter performance this year likely fell short of market expectations.
Joonho Lee, a researcher at Hana Securities, explained, "SOOP appears to have achieved operating revenue of 109.8 billion KRW and operating profit of 24.2 billion KRW in the third quarter," adding, "This represents an increase of 25.0% and 10.5%, respectively, compared to the same period last year."
He continued, "The market expectation was an operating profit of 30 billion KRW," and added, "a portion of Happy Money gift certificates among the gift certificate payments was written off as bad debt and reflected all at once."
He analyzed, "On a consolidated basis, SOOP is expected to achieve operating revenue of 434 billion KRW and operating profit of 117.6 billion KRW this year," representing increases of 24.9% and 30.2%, respectively, compared to last year. He further emphasized, "SOOP is launching Welcome Project Season 2 simultaneously with its rebranding," adding, "They plan to expand their streamer pool, with the addition of Valorant and virtual streamers becoming visible since August." He explained, "Simultaneous global streaming will be possible in the future," and stated, "Their competitiveness within the domestic live streaming platform market is certain."
