Secured 220 Million KRW in National Funds... Naechon-myeon LED Signboard Maintenance Project Officially Launched
Pocheon City was finally selected for the 2025 Signboard Improvement Project competition.
Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 7th that it has been finally selected for the 2025 Signboard Improvement Project contest and will actively promote the "LED Signboard Maintenance Project for Revitalizing the Naechon-myeon Commercial District."
The "LED Signboard Maintenance Project for Revitalizing the Commercial District" is one of the campaign pledges of Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon City during the 8th local government term. The project aims to improve the local image and revitalize the stagnant commercial district by replacing the existing old signboards with modern designs that reflect the characteristics of the region.
Since last year, Pocheon City has focused administrative efforts on project preparation, including feasibility studies and resident consultations. In addition, to ensure smooth project implementation, the city applied for the 2025 Signboard Improvement Project contest last August and was selected as the final target site.
The total project cost is 450 million KRW (220 million KRW from the national government and 230 million KRW from the city government). The project area covers the section from 13 to 82 Naechon-ro and from 2 to 12 Pocheon-ro in Naechon-myeon Samgeori. A total of 89 businesses will be included.
The city plans to complete the signboard design development and detailed design by April 2025 after attending the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s project briefing session in October, and finish the signboard installation work by October 2025.
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “I hope this LED Signboard Maintenance Project for revitalizing the commercial district will serve as a catalyst to bring vitality to the Naechon-myeon commercial district,” adding, “We will continue to maintain signboards to contribute to the development of the local economy.”
