The city of Busan will hold the “15-Minute City Vision Tour Season 2: Jung-gu Edition” at 1:30 p.m. on the 7th in the main conference room on the second basement floor of Jung-gu Office.
Attendees at the event will include Mayor Park Hyungjun, Jung-gu District Chief Choi Jinbong, FGK CEO Kim Iktae (corporate representative), Kim Byunghyun, President of the Jung-gu Residents’ Autonomy Committee Association (resident representative), city and district council members, local businesspeople, and members of the Policy Empathy Group, totaling around 150 participants.
The event will proceed in the following order: presentation (PT), policy briefing, discussion and Q&A, performance, and commemorative photo session.
The “15-Minute City” is one of the city’s key policies, aiming to create a city where essential facilities for childcare, education, healthcare, wellness, culture, environment, and welfare are sufficiently provided within close proximity, enabling residents to build strong social relationships and pursue self-fulfillment together with diverse neighbors.
In particular, while administrative roles such as restructuring spatial layouts are important for the “15-Minute City,” voluntary participation from civil society is paramount to realizing its values and ensuring sustainability. To achieve this, the city has planned the “15-Minute City Vision Tour” as a step-by-step policy communication initiative, moving away from traditional district tours that simply involved meeting residents.
While Season 1, held last year, focused on sharing the vision of the 15-Minute City, this year’s Season 2 aims to promote citizen participation throughout the entire policy cycle?including policy planning, decision-making, implementation, and evaluation.
“Vision Tour Season 2” began in March in Saha-gu and is being held sequentially in all 16 districts and counties. This event, the eleventh in the series, will take place in Jung-gu.
During the event, local residents will directly propose the “Jung-gu Senior Welfare Center Construction Project,” followed by a discussion and preference survey on the topic among participants.
The “Jung-gu Senior Welfare Center Construction Project” will invest a total of 10 billion KRW to build a six-story senior welfare content space in Daecheong-dong 2-ga, Jung-gu, reflecting local characteristics. The facility will include the Haha Center, a multipurpose auditorium, community rooms, a healthcare zone, an annexed parking lot, and a senior citizens’ lounge.
