Handonghun on Opposition's Delegation of Financial Investment Tax Decision to Leadership: "Unseemly Behavior"
"Repealing the Financial Investment Tax, I Say Once Again"
Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, criticized the Democratic Party of Korea on the 6th for deciding to delegate the decision on the implementation of the financial investment income tax to the party leadership, saying they "continue to show a foolish appearance."
Han made these remarks after finishing support activities for the October 16 by-election for the Geumjeong District Office at Namsan Catholic Church in Busan and meeting with reporters.
He emphasized, "Shouldn't we reduce the uncertainty in the stock market? There is no reason not to decide on that," and added, "I would like to once again call for the abolition of the financial investment income tax."
The Democratic Party had previously decided at a party meeting on the 4th to delegate the party's stance on the financial investment income tax to the leadership.
Meanwhile, regarding the Democratic Party and the Joguk Innovation Party candidates' efforts to unify the opposition, Han said, "This election is not about dragging central political strife but about deciding who can work and who can take action for Geumjeong," and emphasized, "I will do my best until the end together with People Power Party candidate Yoon Il-hyun."
