Japan evacuates 16 nationals including from Lebanon
Transport Aircraft on Standby for Future Transport
The Japanese Ministry of Defense evacuated its nationals from Lebanon, where fighting between Israel and the pro-Iran armed group Hezbollah has intensified.
On the 5th, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported that the Japanese Ministry of Defense announced on the 4th that it had evacuated 16 people, including Japanese nationals, from Lebanon using an Air Self-Defense Force transport aircraft.
The Air Self-Defense Force C-2 transport aircraft moved a total of 16 people from Beirut Airport, the capital of Lebanon, to Jordan. This group included 11 Japanese nationals, including staff from the Japanese Embassy in Lebanon who wished to evacuate abroad, one family member of a Japanese national with foreign nationality, and four French nationals.
It is known that about 50 Japanese nationals reside in Lebanon.
Considering the worsening situation in the Middle East, the Japanese government sent two Air Self-Defense Force transport aircraft to Jordan and other neighboring countries of Lebanon on the 3rd to evacuate its nationals.

The Ministry of Defense decided to keep the transport aircraft on standby in Jordan and other locations to prepare for future transportation of Japanese nationals.
