School sports facilities such as gymnasiums and playgrounds are conveniently located near residential areas, making them ideal for residents to exercise easily. However, due to management issues such as facility damage and safety, opening these facilities has been challenging until now.
On the 5th of last month, the district signed an agreement with four schools?Namseong Middle School, Munchang Middle School, Sanghyeon Middle School, and Yeongdeungpo High School?to promote the 'School Sports Facilities Opening Activation Project' and decided to provide various support to these schools.
The district will dispatch school managers to oversee facility management when opening the school sports facilities. The school managers will be responsible for overall operations, including verifying entrants, inspecting facilities, and cleaning. Additionally, to prepare for any accidents that may occur during the use of sports facilities, liability insurance for facilities and structures has been subscribed. In particular, the district is considering providing separate incentives to schools participating in the opening project and plans to expand the number of participating schools in the future.
This opening will be available on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), when demand is high, until December this year. Namseong Middle School will allow badminton clubs to use the gymnasium, Sanghyeon Middle School and Yeongdeungpo High School will allow basketball clubs to use the gymnasium, and Munchang Middle School will open its playground to residents.
