Kia Sells 250,000 Units Domestically and Internationally Last Month... 4.5% Decrease YoY
Kia announced on the 2nd that it sold 249,842 units domestically and internationally last month. This is a 4.5% decrease compared to the same period last year.
In the domestic market, sales amounted to 38,140 units, a 13.6% decrease compared to the same period last year. The mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) Sorento was the best-selling model with 6,628 units sold. Overseas, sales decreased by 2.7% during the same period, totaling 211,002 units.
The best-selling model in the overall domestic and international markets was the Sportage, with 47,207 units sold. Special vehicles sold a total of 700 units, including 129 units domestically.
A Kia official stated, "Last month, sales performance declined due to reduced operating days caused by the Chuseok holiday and production cuts from parts suppliers' strikes. In the fourth quarter, we plan to recover sales through the launch of the improved Sportage model and the full-scale sales of the EV3 in the European market."

He added, "We also plan to continue expanding sales through the launch of new models such as the EV4 and Tasman in the first half of next year."
